Lewis Hamilton-Backed Neat Features MeliBio’s Bee-Free Hot Honey Sando

MeliBio, a bee-free honey producer, has announced that Neat, a prominent plant-based restaurant chain supported by Lewis Hamilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, has introduced a new menu item featuring MeliBio’s honey product, Mellody. The new dish, called the Hot Honey Sando and made with Mellody Spicy Habanero, is now available exclusively at Neat’s Nolita location in New York City.

“This collaboration highlights the versatility and quality of Mellody”

Darko Mandich, CEO of MeliBio, commented on the collaboration: “We are excited to see Mellody featured in Neat’s new Hot Honey Sando. This collaboration highlights the versatility and quality of Mellody, and aligns perfectly with our mission to create sustainable honey alternatives that help save the bees and protect biodiversity.”

Mellody Spicy Habanero was launched earlier this year as the first vegan hot honey, joining the company’s Golden Clover Plant-Based Honey, which was introduced the previous year

The company’s products aim to replicate the taste and texture of traditional honey without the environmental drawbacks associated with bee farming. This partnership with Neat showcases the product’s adaptability and appeal in various culinary uses. Mellody has seen significant growth since its launch and is now available in 150 retail and foodservice locations. And recently, MeliBio partnered with Pow.Bio to enhance its precision fermentation capabilities and improve product functionality.

Customer-centric menu

Neat, formerly known as Neat Burger, rebranded and updated its menu and physical locations earlier this year. Isabella Aldridge, Head of Brand and Marketing at Neat, told vegconomist, “We’re looking forward to continuing to develop our menu, taking cues from customer preferences to improve in texture, nutrition, and flavor – and ensuring our offerings resonate with diners globally.”

Mandich announced the partnership on social media: “I fell in love with Neat’s authentic concept of introducing tasty & healthy plant-based foods on my trip to London a few years ago. […] If you are in NYC, head to Neat Nolita and enjoy in this deliciousness.”
