TiNDLE Foods Partners with PLNT Burger to Feature Plant-Based Chicken on East Coast Menus

TiNDLE Foods has announced a partnership with PLNT Burger, an all-vegan burger chain co-founded by chef Spike Mendelsohn and entrepreneur Seth Goldman, to feature TiNDLE’s plant-based chicken in key menu offerings. Starting this January, TiNDLE Chicken will be the primary plant-based chicken used in the Crispy Chik’n Sandwich and Spicy Chik’n Sandwich across all 13 PLNT Burger locations on the East Coast of the United States.

“Together with TiNDLE, we’re proving that plant-based food can be crave-worthy, sustainable, and accessible to everyone”

Spike Mendelsohn, PLNT Burger’s co-founder and culinary director, told vegconomist, “Our new Tindle fried chicken sandwich is absolutely delicious and nutritious! Working with the Tindle team has been nothing short of amazing, as they truly understand what the consumer is looking for out of plant-based products.”

TiNDLE Foods, which launched its plant-based chicken products in US retail in late 2023, has since expanded its portfolio, introducing a stuffed chicken line at Expo West in 2024 and rolling out to shelves at GIANT and Martin’s later that year. The brand also gained visibility by serving its chicken patty at the Vegan Women Summit in May 2024. While TiNDLE has made inroads in retail, the PLNT Burger partnership represents a significant foodservice collaboration for the company in the US.

Bold and sustainable dining

The collaboration is a milestone for both brands in their shared goal of promoting sustainable, plant-based dining options. According to TiNDLE, its plant-based chicken is designed to offer enhanced crispiness and juiciness, providing a new take on PLNT Burger’s established menu favorites.

In a statement to vegconmist, JJ Kass, TiNDLE’s senior vice president of business development and managing director for the US, noted, “The PLNT team shares in our belief that bold flavors and sustainable dining can go hand in hand with one another. We’re thrilled to kick off this partnership, introducing some of our most popular chicken products to PLNT’s communities to create memorable culinary experiences that leave a smaller impact on the planet.”

With PLNT Burger recently launching an equity crowdfunding campaign to fund its expansion into new locations and Whole Foods kiosks, the timing of this partnership reflects the brand’s growth ambitions and focus on innovation.

Mendelsohn summarized the collaboration by saying, “Together with TiNDLE, we’re proving that plant-based food can be crave-worthy, sustainable, and accessible to everyone.”
