Wagamama Launches First Ever Brunch Menu With Wide Range of Vegan Options

Asian-inspired UK restaurant chain Wagamama has launched its first ever brunch menu, featuring a range of new vegan dishes.

Customers can choose from two varieties of breakfast bao buns — vegan sausage & mushroom or vegan bacon & mushroom. There is also a big vegan breakfast featuring plant-based bacon and sausages, grilled tomato, hash browns, smashed avocado with edamame and tofu, teriyaki mushrooms, spinach, baked beans, and toast.

For a lighter option, there is an açaí bowl consisting of açaí sorbet with banana, strawberries, peanut-free spread, and granola. Alternatively, customers can order an overnight oat bowl with chia seeds, coconut milk, sweet mandarin, sour cherry compote, and sunflower seed brittle. Avocado toast with teriyaki mixed mushrooms is also available.

For those seeking a less traditional brunch, some items from the regular menu are also available, including katsu curries, vegetable gyoza, and small plates such as corn fritters or edamame. Additionally, ethically sourced coffee from London-based GRIND is on the menu.

“Proud and excited”

While this is Wagamama’s first brunch menu, the chain has been offering breakfasts at its airport locations for some time, including a vegan full English breakfast. Since 2021, 50% of Wagamama’s menu has been plant-based to help address the climate emergency.

Earlier this year, the chain partnered with Fable Food Co. to launch four pulled shiitake dishes, and with Willy’s Pies to introduce a vegan mushroom, kimchee, and edamame pie.

“We’ve seen an increase in consumer demand for an all-day dining offering and appetite for brunch dishes,” said Wagamama Chief Marketing Officer Kay Bartlett. “This announcement is in response to that, and we’re thrilled to introduce our Wagamama take on brunch. The decision to open our restaurants at 8.30 a.m. has involved a great amount of hard work and dedication from our brilliant teams and we’re all really proud and excited about this latest round of innovation and chapter in the Wagamama story.”

The brunch menu is currently only available at 22 locations. It will be served between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.
