GoodDot Offshoot GoodDO, India’s First Vegan Restaurant Chain, Set to Open More Locations

GoodDot, producer of plantbased ready meals which are reportedly selling around 15,000 units per day in India, is operating several vegan restaurants around three different Indian cities with a business called GoodDO, named after their rescue goat Guddu, with the mission to promote cruelty-free and more eco-friendly in India.

GoodDo, India’s first chain of vegan restaurants, has already proved highly successful with its seven locations in  Udaipur, Jaipur and Mumbai, and plans to open five further restaurants in the near future. The company serves veganised versions of traditional Indian dishes as well as international fast food options.

Plant-based startup Good Dot was founded in 2018, as first Indian producer of vegan chicken alternatives. With its offshoot GoodDo, the company aims to help popularise veganism in the country by serving a range of vegan dishes created with the Good Dot meats alternatives, such as chicken tikkas, curry bowls and biryani.

As we reported this January, a recent Ipsos report named Food Habits of Indians: Ipsos Study, showed that about 63% of Indians are inclined to choose plant-based foods in place of meat.
