Prolgae, a Nordic-Indian startup company, is fighting malnutrition in the world by producing high quality, affordable spirulina.
Prolgae founder and CEO, Aakas Sadasivam, started his business with the aim to fight malnutrition – primarily in India and Africa – by producing premium quality, sun-dried spirulina and make it available to everyone.
Widely recognized as a superfood, spirulina is a rich source of protein, vitamins A, B, D and E, Calcium, Iron, Potassium, GLA. Moreover, it is a natural appetite suppressant and has powerful antioxidant properties.
Prolgae was recently chosen as one of the Top 25 companies in India by the CEO magazine and was also one of the Top 10 Agritech Start-ups. Prolgae Spirulina is currently available as flakes and powder and they are eyeing to tap the future of algae, as well as looking to scale up producing spirulina.
Prolgae are seeking a further seed investment of $200,000 USD for increasing production, and making value added like omega 3, phycocianin powders, and algea based foods.
