Reebok Shoes: Sustainable but Not 100% Vegan

The shoe manufacturer Reebok has produced sustainable shoes with its “Cotton + Corn” collection. These shoes have been falsely advertised as vegan by a large number of (online) publications. When we spoke with the company, they were kind enough to inform and correct us as soon as possible.

Reebok informed us about the range as follows: “The “Cotton + Corn” collection was never officially promoted as vegan.”

As we were advised by an attentive reader, and as confirmed by Reebok , this is due to two small details made of real leather – one of them is the patch with the company label.

Nevertheless, the company’s efforts to find a sustainable alternative to conventional shoe materials are highly commendable. Perhaps Reebok will find an alternative for leather details in the future, so that this development can really be described as purely plant-based.
