UK Reality TV Star Launches Vegan Range in Waitrose

Lucy Watson, a former British TV star who featured in the reality series Made in Chelsea, is launching a range of vegan products which will be available to retail across 155 Waitrose stores in the UK from 3rd October.

Watson is a self-declared animal rights advocate and has been using her Instagram to promote the vegan message. She is a PETA and RSPCA campaigner, and also launched a cruelty-free make-up line called Basic Bitch in 2013. Her vegan cook-book, Feed Me Vegan, was recently published, and in addition she opened a vegan restaurant in London’s West End with sister Tiffany, in the spring of this year.

Yesterday Lucy announced the launch of three vegan ready meals for the Waitrose chain of supermarkets; Shepherd’s Pie, Curry, and Chili. She commented on social media, “I am beyond excited to announce that on October 3 my new venture @feedmevegan.uk will be launching,” and added, “I have worked hard to develop three amazing vegan and gluten-free ready meals which will be available to purchase in 155 @waitroseandpartners stores across the country.”

This follows less than a week after the news that Waitrose has committed to adhering to clear labelling for vegan and plant-based products, as part of the MarkitVegan campaign by Animal Aid.
