Lallemand Bio-Ingredients has finalized the acquisition of Solyve, a French producer of classical enzymes, further bolstering its enzyme offerings for the food and beverage industry. Solyve, a subsidiary of the InVivo Group, specializes in enzyme production via solid-state fermentation and operates a modern facility in Normandy, France.
High-performance enzymes
Founded in 1989 under the name Lyven S.A., Solyve has developed a range of high-performance enzymes primarily aimed at winemaking, juice and vegetable processing, and plant-based food sectors. This acquisition is expected to enhance Lallemand’s capabilities in enzyme solutions for a variety of food applications.

Expanding enzyme business
The acquisition follows Lallemand Inc.’s announcement in May of exclusive talks to acquire Solyve and AIT Ingredients, two subsidiaries of the French milling group Moulins Soufflet. Moulins Soufflet is part of the larger agricultural cooperative Groupe InVivo.
Lars Asferg, President and General Manager of Lallemand Bio-Ingredients, commented, “Solyve brings a complementary set of capabilities and products to Lallemand Bio-Ingredients’ rapidly expanding enzyme business. Their expertise in enzyme solutions will further support our efforts to offer high-performance enzymes across a wide range of food and beverage applications.”
