The Success of the Vegan Climate ETF from Beyond Investing – One Year On

Last summer we reported that Beyond Investing had launched an ethical stock investment option onto the New York Stock Exchange. One year later, we have been updated that The US Vegan Climate ETF (ticker VEGN) assets have steadily grown to exceed $25 million.

This is the world’s first cruelty-free and climate-conscious Exchange Traded Fund, and VEGN’s performance has shown that investing for a kinder, cleaner, healthier world can be a sensible financial choice for many investors.

Beyond Investing was formed by a group of seasoned investment professionals. It is a vegan and cruelty-free investment platform providing access to investment products that adhere to vegan principles and accelerate the transition to a kinder, cleaner and healthier world.

Since inception, VEGN has returned 27.69% total return on market price against the S&P500 Index’s 19.75% through to 31st August 2020. Performance was particularly strong in August when the ETF outstripped the S&P500 Index by 2.12% on the same basis.

2020 has been a difficult year for many, but the pandemic has shown us that better practices are highly possible. Animal agriculture has suffered massive losses whilst the plant-based sector has never looked so strong.

Beyond Investing has always avoided companies involved in unethical practices towards animals, people, and the planet. It has a stringent screening process that weeds out animal exploitation, child labour, high carbon intensity, the burning or extraction of fossil fuels, single-use plastics, and any other activity deemed to have a significant negative impact on the environment.

Beyond Investing CEO Claire Smith, commented:  “We’re thrilled that more and more investors are switching out of index funds, rooted in the profits of past destruction, towards our more sustainable alternative. As the world turns to ethics to save itself, investors seeking to be ahead of the curve should consider VEGN.”
