Princess Maja von Hohenzollern, an international home décor designer, has received the prestigious “Who is Who International Award-Women Leader” in the categories “Design” and “Animal Welfare” in Greece.

Princess Maja is a member of the Royal Family Hohenzollern, which represented the former emperor in Germany. For the past 18 years, she has designed innovative collections under her licensed brand, which are on the market in over 60 countries. In her portfolio are furniture items, as well as bathroom fittings & accessories, home decoration, pet-, children- and lifestyle products.
Previously, Princess Maja von Hohenzollern was honoured as the best designer in Asia with the “Asia Design Award Gold” in Shanghai/China and as “Designer of the year 2020” with the Powerhouse Global Award in the Uk.

Who is Who International Award
In her designs, Princess Maja combines her profession and passion by making her product lines all vegan and free of animal suffering. She comments that her collections “always have a story, emotions, my own design signature, and a clear unique selling point.”
Under the patronage of the Greek Ministry of Development and Tourism, the “Who is Who International Award” has been presented for several years to international personalities for special achievements in the fields of creativity, tourism, and the environment.
In her speech at the award ceremony, the princess stressed the importance of treating animals with love and respect and of leading a vegan lifestyle. The award in the form of a marble sculpture was designed by the famous Greek artist Odysseas Tosounidis.
The gala award ceremony took place at the noble Lake Vouliagmeni near Athens with about 300 distinguished guests, among them Nobel Prize nominee Prof. Dr. Milan Krajnc, HE Sir Dr. Ian Peter Anderson (CEC Crown Imperial Group, International Human Rights Community), Penny Grivera (CEO Rituals Cosmetics), H.R.H. Prince Nereides de Bourbon.

Animal rights activist and PETA certified
The Princess, a vegan for many years, is an animal rights activist and designs all her collections to be free from animal suffering. Moreover, she is committed to the protection and rescue of stray animals in her own home, as she lives with almost 20 animals, all of which she has rescued and adopted from the streets and kill shelters.
In an interview with vegconomist, Princess Maja revealed that many home items are not vegan, as components are used in the production process that contains animal-derived ingredients, underlining her commitment for her “collections to be cruelty-free and vegan.” Her bathroom fittings collection, “Royal Bath” by Princess Maja von Hohenzollern became the first in its category to be PETA vegan certified.
Princess Maja von Hohenzollern further visited the shelter “Save a Greek Stray” in Greece and promoted the neutering and adoption of street animals. In addition to dogs and cats, the shelter also looks after donkeys and rescued horses.
