Anuga: “We Not Only Follow Market Trends, But Actively and Courageously Co-Shape Them”

Anuga is said to be the world’s largest food and beverage trade fair, held in Cologne every other year. The event consists of ten separate fairs, each covering a different category. For the first time, Anuga 2025 will include Anuga Alternatives, a trade fair dedicated to alternative proteins. A diverse range of products will be exhibited, including plant-based, algae-based, mushroom-based, and cultivated proteins. The event replaces the Anuga Out of Home fair, demonstrating the growing importance of alternative proteins. Anuga Taste Innovation Show Will Have a Focus on Plant-Based Products

Food and beverage trade fair Anuga will return to Cologne, Germany from October 7-11, under the theme Sustainable Growth. The Anuga Taste Innovation Show will take place at the event, with 68 innovative new products set to be exhibited in the central trend area. Cologne‘s famous trade fair space and exhibition centre, Koelnmesse announces that Jan Philipp Hartmann is to take over the position of Director of Anuga at Koelnmesse from 1st April. He will be directly responsible for the management and development of the world’s leading food trade fair. He succeeds Stefanie Mauritz, who took over the role in December 2019. Hartmann, who has been working for Koelnmesse since 2016, has several years of experience as Sales Manager Exhibitors of the confectionery trade fair ISM Middle East as well as ISM. With his international experience and sales strength, he has been able to further advance the development of ISM Middle East as Director since mid-2019 and, among other things, very successfully accompanied its rebranding from Yummex to ISM. …

Vegan Fair Manager Stefanie Mauritz Now Heads World’s Largest Food Fair Anuga

Stefanie Mauritz has been apppointed as the new director of Colone-based event Anuga, the world’s largest trade fair for food and beverages, with 7,590 exhibitors and around 170,000 visitors. Mauritz was previously responsible for the vegan fair Veganfach, also in Cologne,which strongly signals a more plantbased direction for the future of Anuga.

Very Vegan ANUGA

Over the past couple of days part of the vegconomist editorial staff attended the world’s largest food fair, the ANUGA in Cologne, Germany. We were very positively surprised how many vegan products were presented there. Beyond Meat, JUST and Moving Mountains were presented by their respective distributors, PHW and Zandbergen, in the middle of the meat halls – which took some getting used to for vegans.
