Beleaf Unveils New Plant-Based Shrimp and Soy-Based Beef

Beleaf presented new plant-based protein products at Expo West last week at the Anaheim Convention Center. The company featured a range of plant-based alternatives, including seafood options and a shelf-stable soybean-based beef slice. Among the showcased products was Beleaf’s breaded shrimp, a shellfish-free option designed for consumers with seafood allergies. The company also displayed other plant-based seafood alternatives, including salmon and tuna. A key addition to the lineup was the Soybean Beef Slice, designed to replicate the texture of beef. The shelf-stable product has an 18-month shelf life and was presented in both its dry form and fully prepared. Beleaf Announces Partnership with Dot Foods to Expand US Distribution Network

California-based meat alternatives company Beleaf has unveiled a new partnership with Dot Foods, one of North America’s largest food industry redistributors. This collaboration will leverage Dot Foods’ extensive distribution network to enhance the distribution of Beleaf’s plant-based products in the United States, including plant-based meats, eggs, snacks, and its award-winning shrimp. Dot Foods provides access to over 125,000 products from more than 1,020 food industry manufacturers, including a range of plant-based products. Other plant-based companies have recently been leveraging Dot Foods’ extensive distribution network to increase the accessibility of their products. Bunge Introduces Plant-Based Butter for “Superior-Tasting” Commercial Baking

Looking to set a new standard in the plant-based foods landscape, Bunge, a global food and agribusiness company, has introduced Beleaf PlantBetter, a “superior-tasting” and sustainable plant-based butter designed for bakery applications. Bunge claims that PlantBetter mimics the taste, texture, and melting behavior of traditional butter to offer manufacturers a versatile solution for plant-based bakery. The NPD is described as a clean-label alternative made with natural ingredients, such as coconut, cocoa butter, rapeseed, and lecithins. Regarding sustainability, Bunge explains that PlantBetter’s carbon footprint halves standard dairy butter emissions and that these figures have been verified by a third-party study conducted by the Terra Institute.
