Tempeh Missionaries: UK’s Club Cultured Launches New Vegan Dishes at Wagamama

Leading UK tempeh producer Club Cultured has announced a partnership with Asian-themed restaurant Wagamama. The deal means that Club Cultured will bring three new dishes to the UK chain’s menus in selected outlets. “At the time we were dreaming of working with Wagamama, we were experimenting with tempeh in a garden shed” Tempeh – made by culturing and fermenting soybeans – has not yet broken into the mainstream food consumer consciousness in the UK, but Club Cultured hopes that the new partnership will start to change that. Tempeh’s Asian origins as well as Wagamama’s commitment to plant-based dishes make this collaboration a natural fit. Winners of 2019 Vegan Business Bootcamp Pitch + Plant Speak Out!

Vevolution is a vegan organisation based in London which organises a number of  inspirational events in the UK, for the plantbased community and beyond, especially for those involved in vegan business. In addition to their Vevolution Festival (see below), the team also organise a business bootcamp called Pitch + Plant which helps new vegan businesses to obtain funding and mentorship. The second Pitch + Plant plant-based business bootcamp took place at LUSH Studio in Soho, London this July. The event was launched to help entrepreneurs to obtain the skills necessary to develop a successful vegan business; designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. Vevolution’s Pitch + Plant Winners Announced as Club Cultured & The Well Bean Company

Pitch + Plant, the UK’s first plant-based Dragon’s Den style pitching competition, was created by the startup Vevolution in 2017 and helps early stage startups access funding for their business. n in 2017. For this year’s event, Vevoluttion announced that it will make investments directly into startups.
