Coca-Cola Backed Wilk Receives US Patent Approval to “Revolutionize” Dairy Industry

Israel’s Wilk, a publicly-traded company on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WILK, develops industrial processes for producing cultivated human and animal milk from milk-producing mammary cells. The company announces it has now received US patent approval. “This will help to further establish our reputation as a leader in the field of cell-based milk production, while bringing us one step closer to the ultimate goal of revolutionizing the dairy industry.” Previously known as Biomilk, the company received $2 million last summer from Coca-Cola Israel, operating as The Central Bottling Company (CBC) – the exclusive Israeli franchise of Coca-Cola. Costa Coffee Launches Vegan Bacon Breakfast Roll Across UK

British chain Costa Coffee is reportedly the fastest growing coffee shop chain in the UK and is a subsidiary of the Coca Cola Company. The chain is now to offer a Vegan Bac’n Breakfast Bap across the country, as first reported by Vegan Food UK. The new offering uses Irish brand Finnebrogue‘s Naked Bacon Without The Oink! as well as a vegan spread. Earlier this year Costa added more Vegan Society-approved sweet treats to its menu – including a chocolate slice from BOSH!. Famous Irish sausage-maker Finnebrogue is currently undergoing what it has called a “plant-based revolution”, with the opening of a £25 million plant-based facility in County Down, Northern Ireland, and the launch of its Naked Without range including bacon and sausage.  As the …

Coca-Cola Israel to Invest $2M Cell Cultured Dairy Startup BioMilk

In the same week that it is revealed that Nestlé is producing cell cultivated meat in Israel; Coca-Cola Israel, operating as The Central Bottling Company (CBC) – the exclusive Israeli franchise of Coca-Cola, is set to invest $2 million in cell-cultured dairy startup Biomilk. CBC has agreed on an R&D deal with Israel-based Biomilk to accelerate the market arrival of its cell-cultured milk products, with CBC investing $2 million in Biomilk in exchange for an allocation of shares. Under the agreement, $1 million will be invested in Biomilk on the signing of a final agreement, and the remaining $1 million in accordance with milestones. Coca Cola’s First Alcoholic Drink – Topo Chico Hard Seltzer – Off To a “Promising Start”

Coca-Cola recently expanded its beverage portfolio with its first alcoholic products in the hard seltzer category – with three vegan flavours of the popular alcoholic mixed drink containing fruit dessert wine and natural flavours. Coca Cola purchased Topo Chico for $220 million in 2017, a brand originally popular in northern Mexico and Texas, and has rolled it out over several markets since the end of last year.
