Dr. Praeger’s Expands ‘Perfect’ Line With 3 New Plant-Based Chick’n Products

Natural foods brand Dr. Praeger’s announces it is expanding its Perfect range with three new chicken alternatives, including Perfect Chick’n Tenders, General Tso’s Chick’n, and Nashville Hot Chick’n.  According to Dr. Praeger’s, the new products provide high-quality taste and nutrition with up to 17 grams of non-GMO protein per serving. The range includes:  Perfect Chick’n Tenders – Crispy tenders that cook within minutes and can be enjoyed with dip or in a bowl, wrap or salad. Dr. Praeger’s Foods Opens New Headquarters in Saddlebrook, NJ to Accomodate Growth

Plant-based frozen brand Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods announces it has opened new headquarters in Saddle Brook, NJ to grow its team and business.  According to the company, the new space is designed to foster collaboration, creativity and connection, and comes equipped with state-of-the-art IT and a test kitchen. Dr. Praeger’s Appoints CPG Industry Veteran Andy Reichgut as CEO

Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods announces today that CPG industry veteran Andy Reichgut has been onboarded as the company’s new CEO, effective immediately. Reichgut brings over 25 years of CPG industry experience to the role, having most recently acted as General Manager for Violife cheese, an Upfield subsidiary (see our recent interview with Andy here regarding Violife and the vegan cheese category). Fast casual chain Genghis Grill is partnering with Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods to add new plant-based proteins to its menu. Fans of Genghis Grill, which specializes in made-to-order stir fries, can now order Dr. Praeger’s gluten-free vegan chick’n or sausage in any bowl creation.  Based in Dallas, TX, Genghis Grill operates over 50 locations across the US. Vestar Takes Majority Stake in Dr. Praeger’s, Installs Ex Pinnacle Foods CEO as Chair

Private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners announces today it has made a majority investment into Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods. Vestar advisor Jeffrey Ansell, previously CEO of Pinnacle Foods – a $3 billion corporation whose portfolio includes Birds Eye, Earth Balance, EVOL, and Gardein – will join the Dr. Praeger’s board as Chairman.

Tofurky Unable to Keep Up With Demand, New Plant-Based Turkeys Emerge

Tofurky has reported a huge spike in sales orders amounting to the company’s largest annual increase since 2015, stating to CNN Business that demand is so high that it needs to increase production but is limited this year due to staffing. Meanwhile new vegan turkeys are on the 2020 pre-holiday market including Prime Roots and Whole Foods.
