Dr. Praeger’s New Crunchy Veggie Burgers Available at US Retailers Nationwide

Frozen food producer Dr. Praeger’s unveils the Dr. Praeger’s Crunchy Veggie Burger product line, designed to address consumer concerns around the texture of plant-based products. According to a recent survey by the Plant-Based Food Association, texture is the primary factor discouraging consumers from adopting plant-based alternatives. The new Crunchy Veggie Burger product line aims to provide a crisper and more satisfying mouthfeel than the company’s other veggie burger options. Dr. Praeger’s Launches Newest Veggie Burgers on QVC Shopping Channel

Dr. Praeger’s, an all-natural frozen foods company founded by cardiac surgeons Dr. Peter Praeger and Dr. Eric Somberg, featured on the QVC shopping channel last night, unveiling their latest veggie burger lines. The newly launched products will be available exclusively on QVC as a “prelude to an exciting retail launch in October,” according to CEO Andy Reichgut.  The two new offerings on QVC are Dr. Praeger’s 4-oz Veggie Crunch Burgers, available in two different varieties: Southwest Sweet Potato, with black bean, chipotle, and spinach, and Cauliflower, with broccoli, zucchini, and peas. Vestar Takes Majority Stake in Dr. Praeger’s, Installs Ex Pinnacle Foods CEO as Chair

Private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners announces today it has made a majority investment into Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods. Vestar advisor Jeffrey Ansell, previously CEO of Pinnacle Foods – a $3 billion corporation whose portfolio includes Birds Eye, Earth Balance, EVOL, and Gardein – will join the Dr. Praeger’s board as Chairman.

Tofurky Unable to Keep Up With Demand, New Plant-Based Turkeys Emerge

Tofurky has reported a huge spike in sales orders amounting to the company’s largest annual increase since 2015, stating to CNN Business that demand is so high that it needs to increase production but is limited this year due to staffing.
