Today, Aqua Cultured Foods, specializing in alternative seafood production through microbial fermentation, has announced a partnership with Ginkgo Bioworks, a cell programming and biosecurity company. This collaboration seeks to refine and enhance the production process of Aqua’s fish-free seafood products, which have been developed to mimic the texture, taste, and appearance of fresh-caught seafood. Based in Chicago, Aqua Cultured Foods has been developing seafood alternatives using a patent-pending fermentation technique and a blend of microbes, fibers, and plant-derived flavors to replicate the umami profile and buttery texture characteristic of oceanic seafood. Materials solutions company Bolt Threads announces a new multi-project collaboration with biotech firm Ginkgo Bioworks to increase the efficiency and performance of Bolt’s portfolio, and to develop novel biomaterial proteins. Evo Foods and Ginkgo Bioworks Collaborate to Produce Animal-Free Egg Proteins

Evo Foods and Ginkgo Bioworks have announced they are working together to develop animal-free egg proteins. As part of the collaboration, Evo will use Ginkgo’s Cell Development Kits (CDKs) to cut costs and speed up development times. While the Indian company has already successfully developed plant-based egg alternatives, it is looking to further improve the properties of its next generation of products. Through the use of Ginkgo’s CDKs, Evo will be able to more rapidly build plant-based egg proteins and prototype its ideas in modules.
