Jay&Joy Doubles Capacity With Acquisition of Les Nouveaux Affineurs and €2M Investment

Jay&Joy, a French company specializing in plant-based cheese alternatives, has announced the acquisition of its competitor, Les Nouveaux Affineurs, alongside a €2 million funding round. The acquisition, supported by a €2 million funding round, expands Jay&Joy’s production capacity and product range in France and across Europe. Since CEO César Augier assumed leadership in 2023, Jay&Joy has revitalized its production processes, reestablished distribution channels, and initiated market expansion both domestically and internationally. The recent acquisition adds a production facility in Ivry-sur-Seine, complementing the existing site in Lacroix-Saint-Ouen, and retains 10 jobs from Les Nouveaux Affineurs. Jay&Joy’s New CEO Raises €2M to Continue Modernising French Cheese

French plant-based creamery startup Jay&Joy has raised €2 million in a fundraising round led by High Flyers Capital.  Additional investors include Jean-Baptiste Rudelle (founder of Criteo), Guillaume Dubois and Cédric Meston (co-founders of HappyVore), and other private investors.  Jay&Joy, which describes itself as the first plant-based creamery in France, has been making organic, artisan vegan cheeses from almond milk, cashew nuts, and coconut since 2014. France’s “First Plant-Based Creamery” Jay&Joy Now Available in the UK

Paris-based Jay&Joy, which describes itself as the first plant-based creamery in France, creates a range of organic, artisan vegan cheeses from almond milk, cashew nuts, and coconut, and recently celebrated its expansion into the UK market. The product portfolio includes vegan goat’s cheese, camembert, blue cheese, maroilles, feta, parmesan, and grated cheese. Two products — Jean Jacques, a vegan Maroilles cheese, and Jeanne, a vegan “bluish” cheese — are now available through Planet Organic, the leading organic grocery chain, while further products have rolled out into independent stores.
