Plant-Based Steaks by Juicy Marbles Launch at 553 Sainsbury’s Locations UK-Wide

Plant-based whole-cut pioneer Juicy Marbles has secured a long-term supply deal with UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s. The deal will see the brand’s plant-based steaks roll out at 553 Sainsbury’s locations UK-wide. The steaks come in a pack of two and will initially be on promotion at £7, underpricing comparable beef steaks. They have received the highest possible Nutriscore of A, as they are a good source of protein, fibre, and micronutrients while being low in saturated fat. Sold raw and unseasoned, the steaks are said to have a versatile whole-muscle texture, meaning they can easily be used in traditionally meat-based recipes. Plant-based whole-cut pioneer Juicy Marbles has announced it is bringing meat alternatives into a “new, more mature chapter” with the launch of its plant-based Baby Ribs with bones. The product is an improved and retail-ready version of the brand’s Bone-In Ribs, which have previously been sold in limited batches online. In response to customer feedback, the ribs are made using a new recipe platform called Marble 3.0, which promises “one of the cleanest labels in the plant-based space”. Whole-cut vegan steak producer Juicy Marbles announces it has secured a long-term supply deal with Waitrose for its Thick-Cut Filet — considered the industry’s first plant-based filet mignon.  Juicy Marbles’ steaks have been available at Waitrose since April in a two-piece package at £9 — a lower price than comparable beef steaks. The product’s sales have performed “exceptionally well” in the first few weeks of the permanent run, increasing 83% since its launch in April, explained the Slovenian company.
