JUST Egg has reported a 45% growth in US college and university food service accounts over the past year, with over 40 new campus partners added since January 2023 alone. This takes the total number of higher education institutions offering the plant-based egg alternative to 120. College caterers are said to be using JUST Egg in a wide range of dishes, including sandwiches, flatbreads, wraps, grain bowls, salads, and baked goods. JUST Egg has also continued to expand throughout other US locations, with distribution up 14% since last year. JUST Egg Reports 14% YOY Retail and Food Service Growth in US

Leading plant-based egg brand JUST Egg announces it has expanded its US retail and food service distribution by 14% since last year. Halfway into 2023, the company reports a “significant increase” of 1,000 new Walmart locations and 800 Kroger stores carrying JUST Egg products, as well as 1,500 food service locations.  Large retail growth Compared to 2022, JUST Egg’s plant-based eggs can be found in 14% more retail locations across the US, according to Nielsen data. Eat Just Cutting 18% of Employees to Help Plant-Based Egg Division Become Profitable

Eat Just Inc. says it is cutting about 18% of jobs in its plant-based egg division, reveals CEO Josh Tetrick, in order to help reduce costs and reach profitability. While the company reports demand for its plant-based eggs is strong and growing, Tetrick says the product portfolio is currently not profitable.  The cuts will eliminate about 40 jobs, but will not affect staffers at GOOD MEAT, the company’s cell-based meat division, reports Bloomberg. According to Tetrick, sales of its liquid and folded plant-based eggs continue to reach record levels, with the company increasing new household penetration by 11% in January.  Despite the products’ strong performance, Tetrick states that, collectively, its offerings are not profitable and the company must take initiatives to reduce costs. Food tech leader Eat JUST reveals its best-selling JUST Egg has achieved price parity with premium chicken eggs, reports Food Navigator-USA.
