Katjes Greenfood Acquires Minority Stake in mymuesli

Katjes Greenfood has acquired a 10.1% stake in mymuesli AG with retroactive effect from April 12, 2023, subject to antitrust review. Founded in 2007, mymuesli is the world’s first provider of individualized organic mueslis and, as the market leader in online retail, is one of the three best-known muesli brands in Germany. In terms of investment volume, this is the largest minority investment to date by Katjesgreenfood GmbH & Co. KG in the context of a single transaction. Katjes Greenfood Places €20M Bond

Katjes Greenfood, a plant-based leader in the German market, announces it has placed a bond (ISIN: DE000A30V3F1 / WKN: A30V3F) with a volume of 20 million euros. News of the bond was “met with lively interest from institutional and private investors,” according to the company. The bond has a maturity of 5 years and a coupon of 8%. All orders placed via the subscription functionality were fully allocated up to a volume of 200,000 euros each. Subscription orders exceeding this amount were allocated at a rate of 88 %. The first trading day (trading per appearance) for the bond on the Open Market (Freiverkehr) of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the Quotation Board segment is already scheduled for 23 November 2022. Katjes Vegan Candies Enjoying Sweet Success in USA

Last year, Katjes – the largest plant-based gummies brand in Europe – launched its vegan candies in the US for the first time after enjoying huge popularity in the its home country of Germany. This success was soon replicated in the US, and the sweets are now listed at Walgreens stores nationwide, as reported by Confectionery News. The brand also has a DTC store, and is set to launch at more retailers throughout 2022. Three Katjes products are currently available in the US. The first, Sour, features fairy, heart, and unicorn shapes with a sour taste. The second, Rainbow, consists of multicoloured sweets and is said to be a celebration of diversity. After “100 % veggie” fruit gum and liquorice and the first vegan chocolate based on oat drink “Chocjes”, German brand Katjes is now going one step further in terms of sustainability. Katjesgreenfood, a subsidiary of the Katjes Group, recently announced its investment in the vegan butter start-up Fora. According to the New York-based company, they have developed the world’s first vegan and cholesterol-free butter, using basic, specially researched and innovative   ingredients. Katjesgreenfood GmbH & Co. KG is one of the first food impact investors in the growing market for sustainable food in Europe, and invests in new food companies. The company’s latest investment is a stake in Fora, expanding its portfolio of vegan companies. Katjesgreenfood is also involved with Seven Sundays and Veganz. Fora was founded in 2017 by Aidan Altman and Andrew McClure; together, they developed the first vegan and cholesterol-free butter, which they call FabaButter.
