Lypid Exhibits Flagship B2B Pork Belly Products at Plant Based World Expo

Plant-based fat startup Lypid introduces two B2B pork belly products to the US foodservice market: Lypid Smoked Pork Belly and Lypid Braised Pork Belly. These offerings, incorporating Lypid’s proprietary PhytoFat™, were presented at the Plant Based World Expo 2023 in New York City, where Lypid secured first place in “The Plant Base’s Taste Challenge” within the meat category. In April, San Francisco Bay Area chefs tested a version of Lypid’s pork belly alternative, and it also debuted at Baganhood, a diner based in Taipei. San Francisco-based Lypid has announced that its proprietary PhytoFat is now available to food service providers, retailers, and restaurants in the US. The plant-based fat is made from oils and water, using microencapsulation technology. Available in pork and beef flavors, it is designed to evoke the taste and mouthfeel of conventional meat, featuring a high melting point that helps to preserve juiciness throughout the cooking process. The launch marks Lypid’s entry into the US plant-based fat market, providing a product free of hydrogenation, trans fats, and artificial ingredients. Lypid, an alt fat startup based in Taiwan and the US, has launched what it claims to be the world’s first plant-based pork belly. The meat alternative is made with PhytoFat, Lypid’s patented technology that creates animal-like fats using plant oils. Lypid Partners with Taiwan’s Louisa Coffee For New ‘Juicy’ Plant-Based Meat Lineup

Lypid, a startup specializing in plant-based fats, announces a partnership with Louisa Coffee, Taiwan’s largest coffee chain, to serve new plant-based burgers made with Lypid’s animal-like vegan fat, PhytoFat.  Available at 500 locations across Taiwan, the collaboration will feature six sandwiches, rice burgers, muffins, and bagels made with the special burger patties. Thai Meat Giant CP Foods Partners with San Francisco’s Lypid to Make Vegan Fat

Thai pork and poultry giant CP Foods has joined forces with US vegan fat startup Lypid. The San Francisco-based food tech develops vegan fat with an animal fat mouthfeel to increase the authenticity of plant-based meats.  Having launched its popular MEAT ZERO vegan range, CP Foods has been investing more and more into the plant-based sphere.
