MorningStar Farms Drops Incogmeato Burger, Will Continue to “Innovate” Plant-Based Line

Kellogg reveals it is discontinuing the Incogmeato Burger, a part of its MorningStar Farms line of plant-based foods, reports Food Dive. The company will continue to sell its other Incogmeato offerings, including Chik’n Nuggets, Tenders and breakfast items.  The move comes two months after Kellogg halted plans to divide its operations and spin off its plant-based unit into a separate company. Morningstar Farms Joins with Pringles to Debut ‘First-Of-Its-Kind’ Plant-Based Chik’n Fries, Unveils Egg Bites

Less than a week after announcing it would strategically retain its plant-based foods business, Kellogg appears to be doubling down on its alt-protein investment. Morningstar Farms now collaborates with potato chip maker Pringles, also a Kellogg brand, to launch “first-of-its-kind” vegan Chik’n Fries. The plant-based brand will also debut a new breakfast item, Breakfast Bites with Vegan Egg and Cheeze, in the US later this year.  Described as fry-shaped, dippable finger food,  MorningStar Farms Chik’n Fries will be available in two varieties: Original, which combines notes of chicken broth flavor with Pringles’ signature potato-crisp taste, and Scorchin’ Cheddar Cheeze. Kellogg’s-owned MorningStar Farms announces it is rolling out two new plant-based chicken products throughout the rest of 2022. One of the products will feature the first vegan waffle ever created by Kellogg’s iconic breakfast brand Eggo. New entrees Sold through MorningStar’s Incogmeato line, the new chicken additions feature the Plant-Based Hot and Spicy Crispy Chik’n Filet, plus the Chik’n and Eggo Liege Style Waffle Sandwich. According to the brand, the Hot Crispy Chik’n offers a juicy inside with a crispy, crunchy exterior. Kellogg Company has announced a plan to separate its North American cereal, snacks, and plant-based foods businesses. Kellogg’s Claims MorningStar Farms Products Will Be Made With “Sustainable” Soy and 100% Renewable Energy

Kellogg’s has announced plans to improve the sustainability of its MorningStar Farms products over the course of 2022, stating its meat alternatives will be made with 100% renewable energy by the end of the year. Revealed: Which Vegan Brands are Hottest on Twitter in Each US State?

A new map shows the most popular vegan brands on Twitter across all states in the US. The results are based on geotagged Twitter data in the last month; tracking over 200,000 tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases for vegan food brands.  Oat-based dairy leader Oatly came out on top of the data, being the most trending brand in 19 states including California, New York, and Texas. MorningStar Farms came in second with nine states including Illinois and North Carolina, and Gardein in third with six states including Florida and Michigan.  Beyond Meat was top trending in six states including Missouri and Minnesota, and Impossible Foods took three states including Oklahoma. Plant-Based Named as Category of the Year With 199% YOY Growth for Online Retail

Market data platform 1010data has revealed plant-based foods as its category of the year following a spotlight report on the 2020 online grocery sector. The research shows 199% annual growth in online sales of alt meat products and named MorningStar Farms as the top-performing brand.  The research also identified the best retail channels in the category, with Instacart as the market leader. Top sales for meat substitutes via Instacart were at Costco with 18% of sales, Publix 16%, and Sprouts 10%. Walmart and Amazon were the second and third best retail channels respectively. The data showed plant-based producer MorningStar Farms and its Incogmeato range enjoyed 94% annual growth and 30% of the market share, although they had lost customers to second place in the market …

Is Kellogg’s Vegan Brand MorningStar Farms Primed to Go Public?

MorningStar Farms, a division of the global food giant Kellogg Company, recently announced that it would convert its entire product line to 100% vegan by 2021. More than 50 percent of its portfolio, which includes burgers, sausages, and nuggets, has already transitioned with almost 65% of its products slated to be all-vegan by the end of 2019. MorningStar Farm’s corn dogs are the latest recipe to be added to the vegan-friendly list.

Kellogg’s Morningstar Line Goes Vegan

MorningStar Farms® ,a subsidiary of the Kellogg Company, which produces meat-free burgers and other chilled goods, has announced its commitment remove all egg whites from their currently vegetarian products, in order to convert the entire portfolio to 100% plant-based by 2021. MorningStar states that this conversion, including products available to 25,000 restaurants, schools, colleges and universities, and hospitals, will reduce the use of over 300 million egg whites annually.
