VFC Launches Vegan Chick*n Breasts & “First-to-Market” Chick*n Mince

UK-based brand VFC has launched a new range of “naked” unbreaded vegan chicken, with two products — Chick*n Mince and Chick*n Breasts — rolling out in the frozen aisle at supermarket chain Morrisons. The launch marks an expansion beyond VFC’s core range of southern-fried coated vegan chick*n. The brand hopes the products will reach a wider range of consumers, as they are suitable for multiple usage occasions. The new plant-based mince is claimed to be a first-to-market product, with 31g of protein per 100g and 65% less saturated fat than conventional chicken mince. It is also gluten-free. Applewood Vegan is launching its award-winning plant-based cheese in a new snacking format. Called Minis, the individually-wrapped cheeses come in packs of five and will be available at Morrisons stores across the UK. The product is Applewood’s first vegan snacking cheese, and joins the current vegan range entailing Appleood block, grated, and slices. The Minis are said to have the “smooth, smoky taste” that the brand is known for. Eatplanted, operating as Planted in mainland Europe, announces it has secured its first major listing with a national retailer. Three Eatplanted products will roll out on 26th December and will be stocked in the butchery section of Morrisons, the fifth largest supermarket chain in the UK.
