Papa John’s UK Introduces New Vegan BBQ “Chicken” Pizza for Veganuary

Papa John’s announces its latest plant-based offering: the Vegan BBQ “Chicken” pizza, just in time for Veganuary. This new limited-time offering will be available from January 2nd at Papa John’s locations in the United Kingdom. Papa John’s also offered a plant-based pizza during Veganuary last year with its Ve-Du-Ya and Hot Pepper pizza, featuring plant-based ‘nduja, a spicy spreadable sausage, topped with green peppers and jalapenos. Additionally, Papa John’s launched the Vegan BBQ Shot pizza in its Chilean locations last year, featuring NotCo’s NotChicken. The Vegan BBQ “Chicken” pizza 2024 builds on these previous successes after the pizza chain reported an 81% increase in plant-based pizza orders. Three large food service chains — Frankie & Benny’s, Papa John’s, and Tortilla — have launched new Veganuary options in the UK. Frankie & Benny’s Italian-American chain Frankie & Benny’s is collaborating with plant-based brands Biff’s, THIS, and OGGS to launch a “Big Vegan Takeover” for Veganuary. Three new dishes have been introduced: Biff’s Parmigiana Hoagie — smashed jackfruit wings served in a garlic ciabatta and topped with Napoletana sauce, THIS™ Isn’t Bacon, vegan cheddar sauce, and basil leaves. The sandwich is served with skin-on fries. BBQ Spicy Banana Blossom Burger — a patty topped with vegan cheddar sauce and BBQ sauce. Jack & Bry Launches “World’s First” Jackfruit Fish Fillet After Selling 50M Vegan Pepperoni Pizza Slices

UK plant-based meat start-up Jack & Bry has debuted what it claims is the world’s first unbreaded jackfruit fish fillet. Produced in collaboration with The Cornish Seaweed Company, the jackfruit fish fillet launch is just the latest innovation from the rapidly-growing British vegan brand.  Jack & Bry has stated that the new unbreaded jackfruit fish fillet was made possible with the use of its jackfruit flavor composition and texture optimization platform, in collaboration with The Cornish Seaweed Company’s award-winning organic seaweed. Plant-Based Pizza Orders Rise by 81% at Papa John’s

As National Pizza Week starts in the UK, The Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Association has revealed the increase of vegan orders from one of its members; Papa John’s. The international pizza chain has shown an 81% rise in orders of its plant-based pizzas, from 2019 to 2020, while data shows a 154% rise in plant-based side dish orders. Papa John’s now has over 500 vegan-friendly stores across the country, with six vegan pizza options, with this total continually rising due to demand. Papa John’s to Launch New Vegan Pizzas in Spain

At the beginning of 2020, Papa John’s was the first fast-food chain in Spain to offer vegan pizza – the Papa John’s Green is available in more than 70 restaurants on the peninsula. This line currently consists of two pizzas: the first with natural tomato sauce, fresh tomato, onion, black olives, green pepper, mushrooms and vegan mozzarella; and the second with natural tomato sauce, fresh tomato, mushrooms, green pepper, vegan mozzarella and Beyond Meat. The 100% vegan pizza initially came in only the medium size but is now available in family and XXL sizes.
