Pascual Innoventures Invests $2M in Mylkcubator, Third Edition Launches Beyond Alt-Milk

Mylkcubator: More Than Mylk, a program focusing on alternative food ingredients made with cellular agriculture technologies by the Spanish companies Pascual Innoventures and Eatable Adventures, has introduced its next cohort of startups focusing on sustainable ingredients. Pascual Innoventures has invested over $2 million in the Mylkcubator program across all three editions, including a recent investment in the precision fermentation startup Onego Bio. Mylkcubator Announces Second Cohort of Alt Dairy Startups

Mylkcubator, an alt dairy accelerator program by Pascual Innoventures, has revealed the five startups chosen as part of its second cohort. The startups are: Maolac, Israel — Using biofunctional ingredients to create nutrient-rich proteins inspired by milk. PFx Biotech, Portugal — Commercialising bioactive and functional human milk proteins made via precision fermentation, which will be used as ingredients in pediatric and advanced nutrition. Miruku, New Zealand — Applying molecular farming technologies to program plant cells and produce proteins and fats suitable for use in plant-based dairy products. ERGO Bioscience, Argentina — Developing plant-derived versions of proteins previously only found in animal products, such as casein and myoglobin. Second Cohort of Mylkcubator Launches to “Future Proof the Dairy Industry”

The second cohort of Mylkcubator, an incubator for cell-based dairy products, has now launched. The incubator is seeking to enroll five startups or projects in the fields of molecular farming, fermentation-based, cell-based, and applied technologies. Mylkcubator is operated by Pascual Innoventures — the corporate venture unit of Spanish dairy manufacturer Pascual — in collaboration with global foodtech accelerator Eatable Adventures. The program is open to startups worldwide. Mylkcubator 2.0 is set to last six months, from the selection of the startups through to the final demo day. According to Pascual, dairy products produced via cell cultivation and fermentation present a “huge opportunity” for the dairy industry.
