Pulmuone to Showcase Plant-Based & K-Food Innovations at SIAL Paris 2024

Major Korean tofu manufacturer Pulmuone has announced it will be present at the food industry trade show SIAL Paris from October 19-23. Pulmuone will showcase a range of plant-based and K-food innovations at the event, which will take place at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre. The company is known for offering various plant-based protein foods containing meat alternatives and tofu, along with traditional Korean street foods in the noodle and rice cake categories. 40-year history Pulmuone was founded in 1984, and entered the US market in 1991 with the establishment of a new subsidiary in the country. Pulmuone Announces New Collab to Streamline Cultivated Seafood Using AI Robotics

South Korean plant-based foods producer Pulmuone has signed a business agreement with ABB Korea Robotics, the local corporation of Switzerland’s ABB, to develop cultivated seafood. The collaboration aims to automate the cultivation process for seafood using ABB’s robotics technology, with a target of mass-producing cultivated seafood products by 2026. According to the announcement, the companies hope to spearhead research and development in AI robotics for cellular agriculture. At the same time, Pulmuone expects this partnership to be the world’s first to apply AI robotic automation to cultivated meat production. Both companies will focus on several areas, including the robotic automation of the seafood cell cultivation process, enhancing production efficiency, protecting intellectual property, sharing research facilities and equipment, and exchanging specialized personnel. Nasoya, an American-based tofu brand, has introduced a new product under its Plantspired range: Plant-Based Chick’n. This new product line is now available at Albertsons and Meijer stores, offered in two Asian-inspired flavors: Kung-Pao and Bee-Free Honey Garlic. Pulmuone, the South Korean parent company of Nasoya, is one of the world’s leading producers of tofu.
