Revo Foods Presents “Ultrarealistic” Plant-Based Salmon Fillet Produced With 3D Technology

Austria’s Revo Foods presented an “ultrarealistic” plant-based salmon fillet made of 100% plant-based ingredients, prepared by Michelin chef Siegfried Kröpfl who has previously cooked for Queen Elizabeth, at a public tasting event in Vienna this Monday. The base of the fillet consists of various plant protein sources, such as pea proteins. Other ingredients include algae extracts and plant oils. The fillet has a high protein and omega-3 fatty acid content, similar to wild-caught salmon. Revo’s “Better Than the Real Thing” Plant-Based Smoked Salmon Arrives in the UK

Vienna’s Revo Foods, previously known as Legendary Vish, announces that its popular plant-based smoked salmon slices, made from pea proteins and algae extracts, are now available in the UK through GreenBay, an online vegan supermarket based in London that ships nationally across the UK as well as internationally. Better than real salmon Revo reports to vegconomist that several content creators and influencers have been sampling and endorsing the product online, with many describing the vegan fish as “better than [conventional] salmon”. The vegan salmon contains Omega-3 fatty acids, is free of common allergens such as soy or nuts, is made sustainably and emits 86% less CO2 than conventional salmon, according to the company. Revo Foods Raises €1.5M for 3D Printed Seafood

Young Viennese startup Revo Foods recently announced the closing of its first financing round for more than EUR 1.5 million and aims to accelerate its market entry with 3D-printed plant-based seafood. Revo Foods, formerly Legendary Vish, specialises in the development of 3D-printed plant-based seafood alternatives and already presented its first product – Salmon With Attitude – at a tasting earlier this year. Revo Foods: World’s First Public Tasting for 3D-Printed Plant-Based Salmon

Vienna-based Revo Foods, formerly known as Legendary Vish, specialises in developing plant-based fish using its own innovative 3D printing technology. Revo Foods has now announced the launch of what it claims is the world’s first 3D printed smoked salmon, “Salmon with Attitude”. The new product will be sampled for the first time on 6 March in Vienna in cooperation with Budapest Bagel.
