Taiwan’s biggest quick service restaurant chain, Bafang Yunji, is partnering with Green Monday to debut its first plant based dumplings across the country. Two plant based options – OmniPork pan-fried dumplings and OmniPork boiled dumplings – are available at nearly 1,000 stores across Taiwan and priced at TWD6 each.

As we reported last week, the Asian initiative Green Monday has recently announced several successful collaborations with Hong Kong food locations including the Grand Hyatt hotel. It has been revealed that as part of Green Monday’s wave of success, major airline Cathay Pacific will serve its plant-based pork alternative Omnipork.

With the current outbreak of African Swine Fever described by experts as the worst outbreak in history, affecting China, Vietnam and now Thailand, the underlying pork supply will be highly unstable and the market is urgently looking for a sustainable alternative.
