SuperMeat Survey Reveals Nearly 90% of US Chefs Would Serve Cultivated Meat

A new survey conducted by food tech company SuperMeat discovered that 86% of American chefs are interested in serving cultivated meats, poultry or seafood to customers.  Conducted with market research consultancy Censuswide, the survey polled opinions from 251 US chefs and food professionals. The results found:  86% of chefs are interested in serving cultivated meat or poultry, with 22% of those saying they are “very interested” 84% would consider replacing conventional meat with cultivated meat on their menus if pricing were similar 77% would be willing to pay a premium for cultivated meats, with two-thirds willing to pay 11-15% more Those surveyed indicated food safety, concerns for the environment and customer demand were top motivators for adding cultivated meat to their menus.  Chicken is top …

SuperMeat Partners With Migros, Switzerland’s Largest Supermarket and Meat Manufacturer

SuperMeat, the Israeli cultivated meat startup, has announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Switzerland’s largest retail supermarket chain and leading meat manufacturer, Migros. The MOU will expedite the production and distribution of cultivated meat on a commercial scale.  As part of the partnership, Migros has invested in SuperMeat, indicating that the industry sees a strong interest among consumers in alternative proteins. 71% of Participants Choose Cultivated Meat at Live Consumer Test by SuperMeat

A live consumer test by SuperMeat has found that 71.8% of participants would choose a cultivated crispy chicken sandwich over the traditional variety. At the test, which the Israeli company says was the first of its kind for cultivated meat, the majority of consumers were very curious about the product and viewed it as more sustainable than conventional meat. The results are encouraging for the industry, showing that many consumers would likely be willing to purchase cultivated products. Poultry Giant PHW Signs MoU With SuperMeat For Cultivated Chicken, Turkey & Duck

PHW Group, one of Europe’s largest poultry producers, and Israeli food-tech SuperMeat have partnered to bring cultivated meat to the masses. The deal will solidify the brands’ joint mission to bring cultivated meat products, including chicken, turkey, and duck, to European consumers. SuperMeat Partners With Ajinomoto to Accelerate Commercialisation of Cultivated Meat

Israel’s SuperMeat has announced a strategic collaboration with Japanese biotech company Ajinomoto to speed up the commercialisation of cultivated meat. As part of the collaboration, SuperMeat’s expertise in cultivated meat will be combined with Ajinomoto’s proprietary R&D technologies in the fields of biotechnology and fermentation. This will allow the companies to develop supply chain solutions while simultaneously increasing acceptance of cultivated meat products. Additionally, Ajinomoto will invest in SuperMeat as one of its corporate venture capital projects.
