Vevolution Announces Pitch Event for Fast-Growing “Food as Medicine” Category

Agrifoodtech investment platform Vevolution has announced it will be hosting a virtual pitch event with the theme “Food as Medicine”. The category is rapidly gaining investor interest and includes areas such as personalized nutrition, functional ingredients, sugar and salt alternatives, and microbiome health. Five startups will pitch at the event: Sante Science — A Brazilian company using upcycled spent brewer’s grain to produce supplements that reduce chemotherapy side effects, improving cancer patients’ quality of life. Sea & Believe — An Irish startup using native seaweed to produce seafood alternatives and ingredients for the food and skincare industries. Investment Marketplace Vevolution Raises $330K in Seed Funding Round

Plant-based and cellular agriculture investment marketplace Vevolution has raised $330,000 in a seed funding round led by Capital V, Kale United, and CULT Food Science. Alongside these industry-leading alt-protein investors, several angel investors such as Virginia Pappadakis, Victoria Betoeski, and Paul Peyer also participated. Vevolution says it will use the funding to develop its technology, expand its offerings, and help more plant-based and cellular agriculture companies secure funding. Previously operating as a vegan business events community, Vevolution pivoted into fintech in late 2020 after the pandemic made in-person events difficult. The company’s technology now has over 3000 users, 1,200 startups, and nearly 100 investor members. Vevolution Investment Marketplace Helped 21 Plant-Based Startups Secure Funding in 2021

The Vevolution investment marketplace, a global fintech platform for plant-based companies, announces it helped 21 startups find funding in 2021. Almost 300 funding rounds were added to Vevolution last year, with 800 introductions made to member investors. 21 startups received full or partial funding of their investment rounds. These startups include BetterMilk, De Novo Dairy, No Evil Foods, Grounded Foods, Grazer, Crafty Counter, Blackbird Vegan Cheese, and THE PACK, with more set to be announced later this year.
