Impossible Foods Wants to Double its Production

Last March, the Impossible Foods brand, which produces alternative meat substitutes, opened a factory in Oakland and started selling 2,000 kilos of its product per month to 40 restaurants. Since then, the company’s production has increased many times over. In April, the brand entered the international market and has since been supplying the USA, as well as customers such as luxury hotels in Hong Kong. It currently works with 3,000 restaurants and produces 250,000 kilograms per month. But now Impossible Foods wants to double its production. A further production facility is planned in Oakland, which will require additional staff. The vegan brand is therefore creating jobs through its international success.

This was the longest development path in our entire product range. And there’s more to come; we want to launch even more new vegan products in the near future,” says Jaap Korteweg, founder and director of The Vegetarian Butcher. Meanwhile, the vegan manufacturer’s products are available in more than 4,000 …

Market Report: Market for Vitamin B12 Continues to Grow

The new market research report “Global Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin, Cyanocobalamin) Market Professional Survey Report 2018” by MarketResearchNest discusses the global market for vitamin B12, and provides various forecasts up to the year 2025. Cyanocobalamin is an artificial form of vitamin B12, which is important for growth, cell proliferation, hematopoiesis and protein and tissue synthesis. Vitamin B12 is also used to treat many different diseases. The global market for vitamin B12 (cobalamin, cyanocobalamin) was estimated at $310 million in 2017, and will reach $400 million by the end of 2025, representing an annual growth of 3.1%. This development could be strongly related to the growing vegan trend. Vegan diets often lack vitamins such as cobalamin and cyanocobalamin. Vegans are therefore partially dependent on B12 supplements. In …

VanLeeuwen: Vegan Ice Cream Startup Receives Capital from Strand Equity

The company, which was founded in 2010, will have a total of 16 branches in the foreseeable future. The idea to produce vegan ice cream came to co-founder Ben Van Leeuwen as early as 2002, when he and his former wife Laura O’Neill and his brother Peter Van Leeuwen decided to open a vegan ice cream shop. This went in contrast to conventional ice cream vendors, which primarily sold industrially-produced ice creams. By raising capital, VanLeeuwen will …
