Chicago-based Conagra Brands, Inc., one of North America’s leading branded food companies, is answering the growing demand for plant-based food by expanding its line of Gardein meat-free products and meals.
Gardein’s latest items will be available this summer, feature pea and wheat protein, and include Chick’n Wings, Tenders and Nuggets, Breakfast Bowls that include a vegan Eggs Benedict, Skillet Meals, Breakfast Saus’age, Italian Saus’age Patties, and Entrée Bowls for One.
According to Conagra Brands, meat substitutes were previously tailored to vegans and vegetarians. Now more than ever, people are seeking a flexitarian diet due to a variety of lifestyle and dietary needs, including animal welfare, health, and sustainability.
