Vegan milk company NüMilk has debuted its almond milk machines in stores, a make-your-own plant-based beverage, free of additives. The machines provide freshly made, organic almond milk at the push of a button, and “made right before your eyes”.
Currently installed in selected Whole Foods locations in the USA, for $3.99 consumers can choose between maple or unsweetened versions and take away in a provided container. This way, NüMilk can give customers raw and organic vegan milk, without emulsifiers and gums often added by other brands.
The plant-based drink industry continues to grow rapidly, as consumers turn their backs on animal milks for various ethical and health reasons, such as animal welfare, hormone use and allergies. The industry is now worth $1.8 billion in the USA alone.
