Norwiegen manufacturer Vestkorn, the leading European producer of ingredients from peas and beans, announces the launch of textured pea protein and textured faba bean protein, to cater for the growing demand for sustainable meat alternatives.
Vestkorn produces pea protein, field bean protein, pea fibre and pea starch, which are also available as organic products.
The new products will be presented at Food Ingredients Europe in Paris from 3-5 December 2019 (Booth 7H27). The new product line is located at the protein processing plant in Tau, Norway, from where the ingredients will be distributed. The processing will be fully integrated into the existing production processes for protein extraction. This in-line setup improves sustainability and ensures stable quality and short lead times.
The textured pea and faba bean proteins are based on dry, extracted faba and pea protein. No chemicals are used during processing and no waste water is produced, making the textured proteins are especially sustainable.
