The Beyond Burger hype continues: On Saturday, June 15th, the Beyond Burger from Beyond Meat was a promotional product at the discounter Lidl in Germany.
Today, 17 June, customers will find the Beyond Burger in the freezer at the Netto discounter: two patties for 4.99 euros. With over 75,000 employees, a turnover of approx. 11 billion euros and over 4200 stores, Netto is the third largest discounter in Germany after ALDI and LIDL. Netto Marken-Discount AG & Co. KG is headquartered in Maxhütte-Haidhof, Bavaria. It is a food discounter and subsidiary of the German retail giant Edeka (over 350,000 employees, over 50 billion euros in sales). Edeka offers its customers the Incredible Burger from the Nestlé subsidiary Garden Gourmet. This patty is also used by McDonald’s in Germany in its vegan Big Vegan TS Burger.
