Coolhaus Announces New Vegan Ice Cream Line

The company Coolhaus, a premium ice cream brand from Los Angeles, recently announced the launch of a new vegan ice cream line. A total of 13 new plant-based ice cream varieties will be available in stores from spring 2019.

The innovative ice cream brand started out in 2009 with a mobile ice cream truck. Since then, its business idea has been continuously developed, and the brand’s products can now be found in around 6,000 retail stores in the USA. These include the supermarket chain Whole Foods, where the new ice cream line will initially be available from April next year.

“There is really, really nothing comparable on the shelf,” said Natasha Case, CEO and founder of Coolhaus, regarding the new vegan ice cream flavours. The recipe is based on peas, brown rice and cocoa butter. New varieties such as Peanut Butter Fudge Chip, Horchata Breakfast, Dirty Mint Chip, Salted Caramel Crunch, Mokka Marcona Almond Fudge and Chocolate Campfire S’mores will eventually be launched.

The founder of the ice cream brand told VegNews: “We wanted to do it differently by creating more uniqueness in taste and more innovation in ingredients.”

Even large ice cream brands like Ben & Jerry’s are increasingly following the vegan trend. 20 percent of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream range is now produced without cow’s milk.
