Just two days ago we reported on the consistent vegan launches from UK bakery chain Greggs after the business reported sales increases of 17% for the first quarter of 2023, and looked back at its vegan story which began with the famous sausage roll in 2019.
Today, the ever-divisive Daily Mail reports that Greggs is to introduce three new products including a Vegan Tandoori Chicken-Free Flatbread. The Mail says that the new product comes with cucumber, salad, vegan tandoori mayonnaise, and mango chutney. Then, predictably, goes on to attempt to show this as a bad thing by listing some comments from Twitter.
As we know, such products are not only good for people and the planet, let alone the animals, but also have provided an incredible boost for the business, whose profits have soared since the vegan sausage roll.
vegconomist has invited Greggs to comment and will report back.
