Juicy Marbles, the company known for its plant-based whole cuts like marbled steaks and ribs, has launched its first whole-cut fish alternative, ‘Kinda Cod’. The new product is part of the company’s latest initiative, Juicy Marbles & Friends, which introduces a curated selection of innovative plant-based products from various partners. The collaboration with Revo Foods is Juicy Marbles’ first entry into co-branded offerings, extending its reach and diversifying its product range.
What’s inside ‘Kinda Cod’
The Kinda Cod filet, developed by Revo Foods, is a raw, unseasoned fish alternative made from fermented mycoprotein. This partnership allows Juicy Marbles to expand its product lineup without diverting resources from its core products. The Kinda Cod product will initially just be available through Juicy Marbles’ US online store.
“Kinda Cod” is presented as a 110g filet with a texture and flavor intended to offer greater versatility in cooking, from home kitchens to professional culinary settings. Juicy Marbles co-founder Maj Hrovat noted that many existing plant-based fish products rely on breading or rubbery textures. “But when we cooked Revo’s Cod, it flaked into tender pieces like a proper filet. Had the subtle, not too ‘oceany’ flavor we always hoped for. And it’s perhaps the only fish alternative we felt we could use in serious cookery,” he said.
The product is marketed as being rich in nutrients, including Omega-3 fatty acids from microalgae oil, as well as vitamins B12, B6, and folate, along with dietary fiber.

Partnership unlocks US market
Revo Foods, an Austrian startup that has been producing plant-based fish since 2021, previously focused on the European market. The partnership with Juicy Marbles allows Revo Foods to enter the US market, where there is demand for such products.
Robin Simsa, CEO of Revo Foods, stated, “A ton of startups founded in 2020 and 2021 tried to do everything themselves. Sadly, many faced challenges because it’s too capital-intensive. Our collaboration with Juicy Marbles is a prime example of how partnership can bring the whole field forward by allowing startups with different strengths to focus on their core expertise.
“Juicy Marbles has built an international brand and distribution network, which most European Brands have never achieved. We have pent up demand for our products from the US that we’ve been unable to supply. So the end result fulfills both of our companies’ missions. I think this collaborative mindset is key to ushering in a new, more mature era for the plant-based industry.”

A future full of whole cuts
This partnership is the first of several Juicy Marbles plans to announce as part of its “Juicy Marbles & Friends” series, which will feature plant-based whole cuts from other brands throughout 2025 and beyond.
The introduction of Kinda Cod aligns with Juicy Marbles’ growing international presence and its continued expansion of both product lines and retail distribution. This year, the company has also introduced new products such as a plant-based lamb whole cut in North America and a pork alternative called “Pork-ish.”
Revo Foods also continues to expand, with the recent launch of its black cod alternative, “THE PRIME CUT,” alongside a highly successful crowdfunding campaign earlier this year.
Juicy Marbles co-founder Tilen Travnik explained that the company’s loyal customer base often expresses interest in products outside Juicy Marbles’ existing range. “There are so many products our customers want that they don’t have access to. That’s why collaborating with like-minded innovators is the next logical step. It not only augments our production capacity, but also allows us to respond to our customers’ needs, faster. It’s great to know that we can be this nimble as the industry evolves.”
