LEON Launches Vegan Smoked Garlic Aioli for Retail

UK-based fast food chain and retail brand LEON has launched a new vegan product, smoked garlic aioli, at Sainsbury’s supermarkets.

The dressing is made with faba beans and contains smoked water, providing a twist on the brand’s original aioli recipe. It is said to be ideal for dishes such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads, and can also be used as a dip.

“LEON aioli has been at the heart of our restaurant menus since 2004”

The smoked aioli adds to LEON’s extensive sauce range, which also includes classic and harissa aiolis along with burger sauce and three varieties of ketchup. The products are available at Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Ocado.

Healthier fast food

LEON has a focus on healthier fast food, and has always offered a selection of vegan dishes. In 2019, the brand rolled out its biggest plant-based menu selection to date, featuring cheesy jackfruit wings, ice cream, milkshakes, and more.

The following year, LEON revealed that meat-free dishes were making up 60% of sales at its restaurants, with vegan burgers outselling meat for the first time.

“With its rich, full flavor, LEON aioli has been at the heart of our restaurant menus since 2004 and in our grocery range since launch in 2019 – it’s a year-round bestseller. This new smoked version really packs a punch, and garlic lovers won’t be disappointed,” said Ashley Davis, managing director of LEON Grocery.
