Moving Mountains Launches Plant-Based Superfoods Range

British plant-based food company Moving Mountains has launched a new superfoods product range to meet evolving consumer preferences for nutrient-dense, plant-based options. The new offerings, designed to complement the brand’s traditional meat-alternative products, will be available from January through Brakes, a leading UK wholesale food supplier.

“It’s never been easier to supercharge your plate than with our superfoods products”

The superfoods range includes five products: burgers, sausages, crispy dippers, crispy burgers, and falafel. Each product is crafted to be high in protein, fiber, and free from soy and gluten. The range features superfood ingredients such as chia seeds, quinoa, chickpeas, green peas, and mushrooms. Moving Mountains claims that these products are not only nutrient-rich but also low in saturated fats and sugar.

The company’s marketing manager, Eleanor Faragher-Siddall, noted that the superfoods range reflects a strategic shift for the company, which traditionally focused on creating plant-based meat alternatives. “We looked at the changing industry climate and shifting market trends and saw a clear demand for healthier, convenient, and nutrient-rich plant-based alternatives,” she said. The range, which offers an average of 14.25 plant points per serving for most products, is designed to appeal to consumers looking to meet their nutritional goals without compromising on taste or convenience.

Each product is designed to be quick and easy to prepare, with the ability to cook from frozen in just a few minutes. According to the company, the inclusion of 30 plant points a week is a new benchmark for a balanced diet and a healthy gut microbiome. For example, a single portion of Moving Mountains Superfood Sausages is said to provide nearly half the plant points needed for the week.

Dual approach for diversification

The brand, known for its Great Taste Award-winning products, intends to continue offering its core range of plant-based meats alongside the new superfoods line. This dual approach allows Moving Mountains to diversify its product offerings while still focusing on its mission to provide plant-based options that are better for health, the environment, and animal welfare.

Faragher-Siddall continued, “The products that you see today with our new superfoods range are the result of 2 years of hard work by our team to deliver on these goals whilst also not compromising on nutrition and great taste. It’s never been easier to supercharge your plate than with our superfoods products.”
