The Nu Company is launching its raw and organic chocolate bar into the Chinese market. Already known elsewhere as Nucao, the sustainable vegan treat will be rebranded as Nuchoc.
Based in Dresden, Germany, the company has a vegan philosophy, as well as placing sustainability at its heart. Producing the healthiest chocolate bar around, the brand uses coconut blossom sugar instead of refined sugar, making it 50% less sugar than your average bar. A blend of raw cacao and hemp seeds provides a healthy snack for body and mind.
For the environmentally conscious consumer, the packaging for the nucao bars is a biodegradable and garden-compostable cellulose film. It is certified plastic-free and also comes from FSC-certified, GMO-free cultivation. On top of all that, the brand also plants one tree for every product bought. So far, more than 500,000 mangrove trees have been planted in developing countries with their partners the Eden Project.
Available in a variety of flavours, including cashew vanilla, wild berry and espresso crunch to name a few, the young brand hopes to move to the next level by launching into one of the world’s fastest growing markets.
