UK alt-meat brand Squeaky Bean has launched two new products — Chargrilled Steak Style Strips and Horseradish Beef Style Slices.
The Steak Style Strips are made with wheat and pea protein, and are marinated with a beef flavour seasoning before being chargrilled. Their launch follows the success of Squeaky Bean’s Chargrilled Mini Fillets, introduced last year.
The Horseradish Beef Style Slices are also made with wheat and pea protein, and are said to have the texture of lean beef paired with a horseradish ciabatta crumb. Both products are high in protein, low in saturated fat, and ready to eat.
Plant-based innovation
In March, Squeaky Bean’s parent company was named Plant-Based Manufacturing Company of the Year for the second year running. The Compleat Group was praised for its sales growth, environmental management strategies, and innovation.
The following month, Squeaky Bean rolled out a range of new products, including Pepperoni Style Slices, Doner Spiced Beef Style Kebab, and Shawarma Chicken Style Kebab. This was partly made possible by a £5 million investment last year, which allowed the brand to plan a second production facility.
The Chargrilled Steak Style Strips and Horseradish Beef Style Slices will roll out at Asda and Sainsbury’s stores nationwide from September.
