UK-based coconut yogurt brand The Coconut Collab has expanded its range with a new plant-based protein yogurt containing 10g of protein per serving.
The coconut yogurt is fermented with live cultures for gut health, and contains added natural plant protein from soy and almond that provides all nine amino acids. It is also gluten-free, low in sugar, and made using ethically farmed coconuts. The brand claims to ensure all coconuts sourced for its products are used within the supply chain, meaning none are wasted.
The Coconut Collab has also recently launched what is claimed to be the UK’s first plant-based on-the-go yogurt with granola. The product combines the brand’s coconut yogurt with granola clusters to provide a vegan and dairy-free breakfast solution.
“The Coconut Collab is one of the fastest growing plant-based yogurt brands* with the taste and quality of our products proven time and again, and unanimously loved by our customers,” said founder James Averdieck, who also founded dessert brand Gü. “Our position as the UK’s leading plant-based coconut yogurt brand has been spearheaded by the proven success of our existing coconut-based yogurt range, which includes natural and flavoured varieties, as well as our Gut Health Plain Yog. We’re therefore hugely excited to have the opportunity to offer our customers a simple way of upping their daily protein intake, without compromising on the delicious taste and product quality that they know The Coconut Collab always delivers.”
The protein yogurt is now available at Tesco and Ocado, while the yogurt with granola can be found at WH Smith stores UK-wide.
Double-digit growth
At the beginning of the year, The Coconut Collab announced it had raised £1.5 million in Series B funding, which the brand said would be used to transition from startup to scaling phase and establish a more mainstream presence throughout the UK and Europe. At the time, the company revealed it was seeing double-digit year-over-year growth, including 15% growth in 2023.
Last November, The Coconut Collab expanded its range of dairy-free yogurts, creams, and puddings with a new plant-based milk alternative. The barista-style coconut milk is said to “look, taste, and behave just like its dairy counterparts”.
“The Coconut Collab stems from a vision to harness the incredible power of the coconut to create delicious, high-quality food and drink that people feel good about,” Anna Dominey, Managing Director at The Coconut Collaborative, told vegconomist in an interview last December. “Over the past decade, we have seen more and more consumers looking to reduce or eliminate dairy in their diet, but crucially without compromising on taste. Our coconut-based products deliver the rich, indulgent texture consumers want, while also being naturally low in sugar.”
