Why Creapure® is so important for vegans and vegetarians

Creatine occurs naturally in the human body and is crucial for storage and transport of energy in every single cell of the human body. This makes creatine essential for physical and mental health and for the proper function of the immune system. The human body can cover about half of the daily creatine requirement through its own biosynthesis. The remaining amount must be taken up through nutrition.

Only animal products like meat, fish and in small amounts, dairy products, contain creatine naturally. Plant-based foods, on the other hand, do not contain any creatine. Studies show that vegetarians and vegans, therefore, have lower creatine levels, for example in their muscles and red blood cells, compared to non-vegetarians.

In order to ensure a sufficient supply of creatine in a plant-based diet, creatine can be taken as a food supplement in the form of creatine monohydrate or via fortified foods.

Creatine monohydrate is a white, tasteless powder that can easily be mixed into various foods, such as yoghurt and meat alternatives. This completes the nutritional profile of plant-based products and ensures an adequate supply of the essential nutrient creatine without having to consume any animal products.

When choosing food ingredients, purity and quality are a must. This also applies to the choice of creatine. Creapure® is a high-purity creatine monohydrate and 100% made in Germany. Creapure® is IFS FOODS certified, halal, kosher and free from any animal products or raw materials. Therefore, it is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
