Certification Company Collaborates With Vegan Society Austria to Certify Vegan Textiles

The Vienna-based Institute for Ecology, Technology and Innovation (ÖTI) has started carrying out audits of textile companies to allow them to obtain the vegan logo (V-label) of the Austrian Vegan Society. The first pilot project with long-standing ÖTI customer Vossen – one of the leading terry cloth manufacturers in Europe – has already been successfully carried out. SwingKitchen Expands into Switzerland

The Austrian vegan fast food chain SwingKitchen has recently announced new plans to expand into Switzerland, continuing its internationalisation strategy. Towards the end of April, a franchiser will open its first SwingKitchen store in Berne. There are already two branches in Germany, both in the vegan capital Berlin. The company is planning to open stores at further locations in Germany, and new branches in Munich and Hamburg can be envisaged. The fast-food chain’s sustainable plant-based menu is equally popular with all types of consumer. According to the founder, over 80% of the chain’s customers are not vegan. Furthermore, SwingKitchen adheres to a comprehensive sustainability strategy and tries to keep its environmental footprint as low as possible.

The home textiles specialist BETTEN REITER from Leonding in Austria is expanding its range with two vegan products. Having already highlighted topics such as fair trade and animal welfare over the past few years, the company is now focusing on veganism, which has been growing rapidly in recent years. In August, BETTEN REITER, who have 17 shops across Austria, added two new vegan-certified duvets to their range.
