Les Nouveaux Affineurs Presents La Bûche, a Gourmet Goat’s Cheese Likely to Ruffle Feathers in France

Paris-based Les Nouveaux Affineurs this week presents its new creation, La Bûche (“the log”), a veganized goat’s cheese created with fermented cashews. Founded in 2017 by Nour Akbaraly, and receiving a €2M cash injection in 2020, Les Nouveaux Affineurs says that it “imagines, creates, and produces natural, vegan & vegetable alternatives to cheese”. Its popular products are indistinguishable from their traditional counterparts, and during a blind-testing amongst the public, Parisians were shocked and amazed to learn that this cheese did not come from cows.  La Bûche is described by the French startup as a “ripened and fermented product handled with care for multiple weeks. Its delicate white crust and its soft center reveal notes that will remind you of goat cheese.” The product is crafted …

The event was held at Paris’ oldest equestrian stables, with models walking the runway alongside rescued ponies. “It’s an honor to continue our long and storied relationship with the Stella team to establish Mylo, and material innovation, as the future of fashion,” said Bolt Threads on LinkedIn. “Embodiment of a vision” The original black Frayme …

Disneyland Paris Develops Range of Vegan Dishes & Snacks On 30th Anniversary

On 6 March, the 30th anniversary celebrations began at Disneyland Paris, the destination having opened on 12 April 1992. For this occasion, Europe’s leading tourist destination has created new shows, costumes and… vegan food and snacks. Most of the 70 restaurants in Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios parks, Disney Hotels and Disney Village now offer vegan options. So, in addition to the meagre vegan offerings already available (including the vegan Magnum almond ice cream, churros, wrap and vegan chilli), two new cookies have been created to mark the 30th anniversary of the destination. Some all-you-can-eat buffets, such as the Agrabah Café with Middle Eastern flavours, have vegan options and some fast food outlets also offer Beyond Meat steaks with vegan tartar sauce. Which milestones can your company reflect upon throughout the last year? Where should we even start? We raised 4M€ in capital, hired a world-class team (I’m every day amazed by the talented people that joined us on our journey), and solved some of the biggest technical challenges of the industry. But in the end, what matters most is that every milestone we reach eventually gets us closer to delivering amazing whole-cuts and …

French Startup Les Nouveaux Affineurs Fools Consumers on the Streets of Paris With Convincing Vegan Cheeses

French startup Les Nouveaux Affineurs recently had its faux-mages tasted in the streets of Paris. The feedback was very positive and the Parisians were astonished to learn that the cheeses were in fact 100% plant-based. When talking to companies selling vegan products or vegan restaurants, one thing is often quickly established: the vast majority of customers are in fact omnivorous or flexitarian. It is therefore important for vegan startups to increase their visibility among all types of consumers. It is with this in mind that last month, Les Nouveaux Affineurs went to meet Parisians to promote its products by offering passers-by an “aperitif kit” and by letting them taste the different ranges of cheeses both fresh (faux-mages to spread) and refined (for example an imitation …
