Kraft Heinz Selects Vegan Startups for Incubator Programme

Food giant Kraft Heinz revealed the five startups selected for the second Springboard incubator programme class, dedicated to scaling and accelerating food and beverage brands which fall into at least one of these categories: natural and organic, specialty and craft, health and performance, and experiential brands.

The selected startups – all of which are plant-based – are invited to a 16-week class, which will revolve around “learning, funding, infrastructure access and mentorship”. Each of the start-ups will receive $50,000 funding and a chance to earn up to $50,000 more during the program.

The five start-ups chosen for Springboard’s second incubator program are:

Vegan snack and protein bar brand Blake’s Seed Based; BRAMI, producer of lupini-based snacks; Ka-Pop! Ancient inGRAINed Snack Co., which produces sorghum-based vegan popped snacks; and cold-pressed almond juice brand Origin Almond.

“We had an incredibly competitive group of applicants,” said Kelly Reinke, Springboard incubator lead. “All five companies in our second incubator class offer delicious products that cater to the better-for-you offerings consumers are demanding. Springboard exists to help shape the future of food, and we are confident our next class does just that.”
