GFI: Market Value of Plant-Based Meals, Eggs, Condiments and Tofu Products

According to the Good Food Institute, the plant-based meal category, comprising frozen and shelf-stable meals, is worth $387 million. The plant-based egg category is worth $6.5 million, although it is the fastest growing segment. PB condiments, dressing, and mayo category is worth $70 million, while tofu and tempeh is worth $118 million.

Other Plant-Based Categories

Dollar sales of plant-based meals grew 6% in the past year and 22% over the past two years.

PB eggs is the fastest growing although least developed category; sales of plant-based eggs grew 38% in the past year and 105% over the past two years

The category related to plant-based condiments dressing, and mayo is worth $70M, with a growth of 7% in the past year and 29% over the past two years.

The tofu and tempeh segment has a value of $118M; it grew 5% in the past year and 17% over the past two years.
