International leader in taste & nutrition innovation, Kerry introduces Biofine Eco and FermCap Eco, a new Eco Range of plant-based processing aids to help brewers develop vegan-friendly beer while reducing their carbon footprint and costs. Belse Plant Cuisine Opens NYC’s Largest Vegan Restaurant and Brewery

Belse Plant Cuisine recently opened an 11,000 sq. ft. restaurant, bar and brewery in Manhattan, making it the largest fully plant-based restaurant in NYC. Boasting 200 seats, the upscale restaurant has already attracted high-profile guests such Mayor Eric Adams, television host Gayle King, and Senator Corey Booker. Quorn Launches Vegan Beer Collaboration with BrewDog

Vegan protein leader Quorn has released a new collaboration with UK beer producer BrewDog. Claiming to take the meat-free experience to the next level, the new beer has been made to pair with Quorn’s alt meat products and promote sustainable food and drink production, with BrewDog being the UK’s first carbon-negative brewery. The new Quorn and BrewDog beer is a tribute to the UK’s leading meat-free brand and comprises a 5.1% ABV. The brands claim the golden Mexican Vienna Lager has a medium-body mouth feel, low bitterness with toasty breadcrumb notes and citrus aromas. BrewDog and The Vegan Kind Collaborate to Launch Vegan Pale Ale

Online vegan supermarket and subscription box service The Vegan Kind has joined forces with Scottish brewer BrewDog to launch a vegan pale ale. The recipe combines sultana and Columbus hops with Vienna malts, for a 5.5% ale flavoured with citrus, pineapple, and pine. The beer comes in 330ml cans featuring The Vegan Kind’s logo alongside BrewDog’s regular branding. Canada: Chinova Bioworks is Researching Vegan Beer Based on Mushroom Technology

Chinova Bioworks recently launched a research initiative with the INNOV Centre at College Communautaire du Nouveau Brunswick (CCNB), supported by the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation’s Innovation Voucher Fund, to develop a new processing aid for vegan beers. Chinova is leveraging its expertise in “clean label” ingredients at CCNB’s Grand Falls campus, which has been developing brewing and distilling technologies for years. The research project aims to develop a new application for Chinova’s proprietary white fungal fibre, Chiber, as a fast fining agent for brewers. The initiative comes at a time when many breweries are switching to vegan practices to meet consumer demand for healthier and more sustainable products.
